On Wednesday, February 26th the Mid-Carolina High School Archery Team competed in the State NASP IBO/3D tournament. Mid-Carolina qualified as one of the top ten teams in the state with the discipline to acquire the invite. Lead boy shooters for the team were Levi Wessinger, Brooks Bowers, Liam Reitz, Grayson Wiles, and Noah Smith for the boys. The girls’ top shooters for the team were Kayley Minick, Taylar Beard, Miriam Eshaak, Daylen Long, and Emily Self. The team amassed 1528 points on the day. Daylen Long, Emily Self, Brooks Bowers, and Levi Wessinger were invited to participate in the Bullseye Tournament and shot respectable scores from 252-271, with most shooting personal best scores. Other archers that participated were Thomas Dorroh, Brayden Archey, Lillian Lantz, Kharabella Murphy, Ava Grace Long, Hunter Hendrix, Carlee Livingston, and Gracen Shealy. Coach Jason Long would like to extend many thanks to the parents of these archers for allowing them to practice and participate in the sport of archery. Also Erik Barber, for help as a chaperone and bus driver for the event.
